Tangy BBQ Prawn Skewers with Sweet Chilli Aioli

The secret to our perfect grilled prawns? Take care not to overcook them, and season well with lime juice and Robertsons Braai & Grill All-In-One! These deliciously tangy skewers make for the perfect appetiser when you’re entertaining family and friends around the braai. 
Ingredients

For the prawn skewers:

  • 16 medium - large prawns
  • 30 ml (2 Tbsp) olive oil
  • the zest and juice of 1 lime
  • 15 ml (1 Tbsp) Robertsons Braai & Grill All-In-One
  • 5 ml (1 tsp) Robertsons crushed chillies
  • 1 clove garlic, peeled and finely grated

For the aioli:

  • 125 ml (½ cup) mayonnaise
  • 1 clove garlic, peeled and finely grated
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp) sweet chilli sauce

To serve:

  • lime wedges
Cooking Method
  1. Peel and clean the prawns and pat dry on kitchen paper.

  2. In a bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lime zest, lime juice, Robertsons Braai & Grill All-In-One, Robertsons Crushed Chillies and garlic.

  3. Add the prawns and toss well. Cover and allow to marinate in the fridge for 15 minutes.

  4. Heat your grill to medium.

  5. In a separate bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, garlic and sweet chilli sauce, and tip into a serving bowl.

  6. Thread two prawns onto each wooden skewer. Grill the prawns over a medium heat for about two minutes per side, or until cooked through.

  7. Serve with lime wedges and the sweet chilli aioli on the side.
