Mild & Spicy Beef Stew

Rajah Mild & Spicy Curry Powder adds inviting aromas and flavours to this comforting beef stew, with chunky carrots and potatoes packing in plenty of fibre. Serve piping hot with rice or steam bread, plus peas, spinach or green beans for extra vitamins. 
Ingredients
  • 1 kg stewing beef, cubed
  • 30 ml (2 Tbsp) Rajah Mild & Spicy Curry Powder
  • 10 ml (2 tsp) Aromat Original Seasoning
  • 30 ml (2 Tbsp) flour
  • 60 ml (4 Tbsp) vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, peeled and chopped
  • 15 ml (1 Tbsp) crushed fresh garlic
  • 3 carrots, peeled and cut into chunks
  • 3 potatoes, cut into chunks
  • 2 Knorrox beef stock cubes
  • 500 ml (2 cups) water
Cooking Method
  1. Put the beef cubes in a bowl and add the Rajah Mild & Spicy Curry Powder, Aromat Original Seasoning and flour. Toss the cubes in the spice and flour mix so they are well coated.

  2. Heat the oil in a large pot over a medium-high heat. Add the beef cubes, in batches if necessary, and fry them on all sides until they are golden brown.

  3. Add the onions and garlic and cook for 1 minute. Add the carrots, potatoes, Knorrox Beef Stock Cubes and water, and stir well.

  4. Cover the pot with a lid and cook over a medium-low heat for about 1 hour, or until the beef is tender and the gravy has thickened.

  5. Serve hot with steam bread or rice.
