Our versatile Knorr Curry Vegetable Soup is perfect for adding great flavour and just the right thickness to traditional chakalakas. Serve your chakalaka with pap and wors for a home-grown South African feast! 
Ingredients
  • 125 ml cooking oil
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 green peppers, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Robertsons ground peri-peri
  • 1 tbsp Rajah hot curry powder
  • 6 large tomatoes, grated
  • 4 large carrots, peeled grated
  • 1 tin baked beans in tomato sauce
  • 1 Knorrox chilli Beef Stock Cube
  • 2 tbsp Knorr Curry Vegetable Soup
  • 400 g Boerewors, grilled
Cooking Method
  1. Warm the oil in a pot for 1 minute

  2. Add onions and green pepper and fry together with the Robertsons Peri-peri and Rajah Hot Curry Powder until onions are soft

  3. Add the grated carrots, tomatoes, baked beans and Knorrox Chilli Beef Stock Cube, and mix well

  4. Allow the mixture to cook for 15 - 20 minutes on medium heat

  5. Stir the mixture every 5 minutes to ensure that it does not stick, and becomes smooth

  6. Mix the Knorr Curry Vegetable Soup with 4 tablespoons of water to make a smooth paste

  7. Add it to the pot and allow your dish to simmer for 5 minutes, stirring continuously until it becomes thick

  8. Serve with boerewors and pap
