Ingredients
- 1.5 kg - 2 kg chicken pieces
- 30 ml oil
- 2 onions, cut into rings
- 500 ml ginger beer
- 500 ml water
- 15 ml Robertsons garlic flakes
- 50 g packet Knorr brown onion soup
- 30 ml tomato sauce
- 30 ml chutney
- 500 ml McCains Country Crop frozen mixed vegetables
Preparation method
- Brown the chicken pieces in oil, add onion and fry until onion is soft
- Combine the ginger beer, water, garlic flakes, soup powder, tomato sauce and chutney
- Pour over the chicken. Cover with a lid and simmer gently for about 30 minutes or until chicken is cooked through
- Remove the lid, add frozen vegetables and heat through for another 10 minutes to allow the sauce to thicken
- Serve with mashed potato, sadza or rice
