Grilled Orange Sweet Potato Halves with Sour Cream and Lime Dressing

Sweet potatoes make for the perfect braai side. Spice up your potatoes with a rub made from Robertsons Braai & Grill All-in-One, origanum and olive oil, then serve with a delicious sour cream and lime dressing. 
Ingredients
  • 4 medium-sized orange sweet potatoes
  • 45 ml (3 Tbsp) olive oil
  • 30 ml (2 Tbsp) Robertsons Braai & Grill All-In-One
  • 7.5 ml (1½ tsp) Robertsons Masterblends Aromatic Roast Potato
  • 5 ml (1 tsp) Robertsons Origanum
  • 125 ml (½ cup) sour cream
  • the zest of 1 lime
  • 30 ml (2 Tbsp) lime juice
  • 30 ml (2 Tbsp) chopped chives
Cooking Method
  1. Cut the sweet potatoes in half lengthways.

  2. In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, Robertsons Braai & Grill All-In-one, Robertsons Masterblends Aromatic Roast Potato and Robertsons Origanum. Drizzle the mixture over the sweet potatoes and rub it all over so they are well coated.

  3. Heat your grill to high. Place the sweet potatoes on the grid, cut side down. Allow them to cook until they are nicely marked with grill lines.

  4. Now place the potatoes, cut side up, on two layers of tin foil, and seal the foil at the edges to create a parcel.

  5. Turn the grill down to a medium-low heat and place the parcel on the grid. Allow them to steam and allow them to steam until cooked through (about 20–30 minutes). Poke a skewer through the bag: if it easily slides straight through the potatoes, they are done.

  6. While the potatoes are cooking, put the sour cream, lime zest and lime juice into a bowl and whisk well.

  7. Arrange the sweet potatoes on a platter. Drizzle over the sour cream dressing, sprinkle with the chopped chives and serve immediately.
