Ingredients
- For The Steamed Bread:
- 4 cups cake flour
- 1 sachet instant yeast (10ml)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup warm water
- 4 tbsp sugar
- For The Curried Mince:
- 1 tbsp cooking oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 tbsp Rajah mild & spicy curry powder
- 400 g beef mince
- ½ cup frozen peas
- 1 Knorrox beef stock cube
- 2 tsp Robertsons mixed herbs
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbsp Knorr Rich Beef & tomato soup
Preparation method
- To Make The Steamed Bread:
- Place the cake flour into a bowl
- Add the dry yeast, sugar and salt
- Add the water and knead until smooth and elastic
- Place into a well-oiled bowl and allow to rise until double in size
- Place a saucer in a large pot and place the bowl on top.
- Cover the bowl halfway with water and bring to the boil
- Reduce heat and let it simmer for 25-30 minutes or until firm
- Remove from heat and allow to cool
- To Make The Curried Mince
- In a pot, brown the onion in oil
- Add the Rajah Mild & Spicy Curry Powder and fry for 1 minute, stirring continuously
- Add the mince and fry until well browned
- Add the frozen peas, Knorrox Beef Stock Cube, Robertsons Mixed Herbs and water and allow to simmer for 20 minutes
- Just before done mix the Knorr Rich Beef & Tomato Soup with 4 tablespoons of water to make a smooth paste then stir it into the pot and simmer for a further 5 minutes to thicken
- Serve with wedges of steamed bread
