Tender chicken pieces and hearty vegetables in a rich, flavourful sauce – this chicken stew recipe is bound to impress the whole family. Dish onto a portion of rice, serve while hot, and don’t forget the secret ingredient: love.

Preparation time


15 ml cooking oil
1½ onions, chopped
30 ml Rajah medium curry powder
10 ml Robertsons chicken Spice
1 tomato, chopped
2 carrots, chopped
500 g mixed pieces
2 potatoes, peeled and chopped
1 Knorrox chicken stock cube
500 ml water
30 ml Knorr brown onion Soup

Preparation method

In a pot, brown the onion in oil until soft
Add the Rajah Medium Curry Powder, Robertsons Chicken Spice and tomatoes
Fry for about two minutes
Add the chicken pieces and fry until well browned
Add the carrots, potato, water and Knorrox Chicken Stock Cube, stir well and allow them to simmer for 30 minutes with the lid on, stirring occasionally
Just before serving, mix the Knorr Brown Onion Soup with 4 tablespoons of water to make a smooth paste and add it to the pot
Allow to simmer for a further 5 minutes to thicken
Serve with sadza or rice
