Beat the winter blues with this wholesome chicken and leek casserole with bacon for extra flavour.

  • 12 chicken drumsticks
  • 15 ml olive oil
  • 125 ml cream
  • 2 leeks, sliced, washed
  • 4 rashers bacon, roughly chopped
  • 500 ml low fat milk
  • 125 ml cream
  • 1 KNORR Chicken a'la King Dry Cook-in-Sauce


  • Preheat oven to 180°C.
  • Place chicken pieces into a large ovenproof casserole dish.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
  • Sauté leek and bacon for 3 to 4 minutes or until leeks are tender.
  • Stir in milk, cream and contents of the sachet of KNORR Chicken a'la King Dry Cook-in-Sauce.
  • Bring to the boil, stirring.
  • Pour over chicken.
  • Bake, uncovered, for 45 to 55 minutes, until chicken is cooked.
  • Serve with creamy mashed potato.
