Make your own bread to accompany our tasty soup recipes. For variation, substitute the cheese and chilli with ingredients of your choice.

  • 500 g self-raising flour
  • 1 sachet KNORR Thick White Onion Soup
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 red chilli, finely chopped
  • 500 ml buttermilk
  • 500 ml cheddar cheese, grated
  • 60 ml Robertsons Mixed Herbs


  • Preheat oven to 180°C
  • Mix all the ingredients together until just combined (be careful not to overmix) and place into a greased loaf tin
  • Bake at 180°C for 1 hour
  • Allow to cool slightly before removing from tin and then cool completely before slicing
