Savoury Mushroom and Pea Rice

Jazz up your rice with the addition of mushrooms and peas then bring the flavours all together with KNORR Stock Pot!

  • 15ml margarine
  • 1 punnet button mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup white rice
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 KNORR Vegetable Stock Pot
  • 80g fresh shelled peas


  • Melt the margarine in a medium sized pot and gently sauté the sliced mushrooms for about 5 minutes or until starting to become tender
  • Add the rice and stir well then add the water and KNORR Vegetable Stock Pot
  • Bring to the boil then reduce the heat and allow to simmer for 30 minutes
  • Add the peas and simmer for a further 5 minutes or until the water has been absorbed
  • Serve with a roast chicken or any meat of fish dish
  • Tip – for an all-in-one dish simply fry some chicken fillet strips with the mushrooms until well browned then follow the recipe as per method!
