Steak and Vegetable Pie

Ingredients

  • • 750g stewing beef
  • • 1 red onion, chopped
  • • 400ml water
  • • 1 roll puff pastry
  • • 25ml oil
  • • 1 sachet KNORR Oxtail Soup
  • • 250g frozen mixed vegetables
  • • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. Brown meat in oil and add onion
  2. Mix KNORR Soup powder and 400ml water and add to the meat and onions
  3. Cover and gently simmer for 1 hour until the meat is tender
  4. Add the vegetables and simmer for an extra 30 minutes
  5. Season to taste
  6. Pour into a pie dish and allow to cool
  7. Roll out the pastry and cover the pie dish
  8. Trim the edges and cut 2 slits in the centre of the pie to allow the steam to escape
  9. Brush with beaten egg and bake at 220°C for 15-20 minutes
