My story
It didn’t take me long to decide my love of food would become my career.I chose to study a higher diploma in Food and Nutrition at the Durban University of Technology and after graduating I couldn’t wait to follow my dreams of becoming a chef. I travelled around to world and had the incredible opportunity to head up some of the finest hotel and restaurant kitchens in Durban, Mpumalanga and Ireland. I consider myself a natural in the kitchen – probably because I was cooking before I knew how to read! I also like to share my knowledge and passion for the field and spend some time lecturing the Food 111 course at the Durban University of Technology.
My passions and interests
I have a particular weakness for fresh herbs and fragrant spices, and am known to never turn down a good seafood pasta. I love treating my family to tasty dishes and enjoy creating a happy home, filled with hearty food and good wine!Outside the kitchen, I get simple pleasure from tinkering about in the garden and am always on the look out for the next fresh food market.Today, I happily reside in Durban, where I work more officially as Unilever’s Lead Innovation Chef. I continue to appreciate the world of food more than ever, and hope I can make cooking dinner something you also look forward to every evening!
